ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Hitachi Cable (J) Sdn. Bhd strives to protect the environment through continual improvement of the environmental performance of its activities, products and services.

We will:

Harmonize nature and our cable design manufacturing activities by:
|
|
|
Using environmentally friendly materials in our products and packaging; and
|
|
|
Ensuring our products are produced using processes which are not detrimental to the environment, where possible.
|
|
|
Implement an Environmental Management System to:
|
|
|
Set and continuously review our environmental objectives and targets to effectively address our significant environmental aspects and impacts;
|
|
|
Prevent air, water, soil and noise pollution resulting from our activities especially production, chemical and waste handling;
|
|
|
Manage our hazardous waste without causing adverse environmental impact through proper labeling, storage, segregation and disposal;
|
|
|
Use electricity and water efficiently in the manufacture of our product and provision of services;
|
|
Train and imbue in all our employees a sense of duty and commitment towards environmental protection and pollution prevention.
|
Adhere to the principles of Re-use, Re-cycle and Reduce in the manufacture of our products to reduce the generation of wastes.
|
Comply with legal requirements, rules and regulations established by the Government of Malaysia and other requirements applicable to our manufacturing activities, products, and services which relate to our environmental aspects.

|
Have foremost regard for health and safety of:
|
|
|
Our employees who are engaged in our manufacturing activities; and
|
|
|
To society at large who are exposed to the environmental impacts, of our activities, product and services.

|
Include a commitment to:

|
Communicate our environmental Policy with the following means, but not limited to:

|
(a) Employees during training and awareness program, through bulletin board;
|
|
|
(b) All employees working on behalf of the company through briefing and awareness training;
|
|
|
(c) Interested parties through regulatory submission, business associated activities;
|
|
|
(d) Public through the website (www.hitachi-cable.com.my) and our employees; and
|
|
|
Encourage the adoption of an environmental management system by our suppliers and contractors and ensure their compliance to our Environmental policy when working in our plants via inspection and assessments.
